Mauritius is a paradise island located off the Southern Africa Coast in the Indian Ocean, it is best Known for its stunning beaches, beautiful landscapes, rich culture, world class diving, wedding honeymoon destination, Dodo bird, golf which is very popular in Mauritius and vibrant history. it is a 3-hour flight from Kenya and Kenya Airways operate daily direct flights. Additionally, Kenyans do not require a visa to travel to Mauritius, you only need proof of accommodation and to complete online health forms.
ACTIVITIES AND BEAUTIFUL PLACES TO VISIT IN MAURITIUS
1.Chammarel Waterfall
This is the tallest waterfall in Mauritius and the entrance fee is MRU 500.
Tip: You can arrange this trip on your last day especially if you have an evening or night flight as it is on your way to the airport. This can save you some money on travelling back.
2.Seven Colored Earth.
This is one of the most beautiful places in Mauritius. you can see, green, blue, purple and yellow geological formation. and the entrance fee is MRU 500.
3.Beaches and Water Sports
Grand Baie was my favorite beach for swimming, watching sunsets, and relaxing. Other good beaches to visit in Mauritius are: Trou aux beach, Flic and Flac beach, Le Morne beach, Perey Bere beach and Mont Choisy beach.
4.Odysseo Aquarium
The aquarium is a home for tropical fish, coral reefs, stingrays and even sharks. Visitors can get close to the creatures in a controlled environment giving a unique way to observe marine life without getting in the water.
5.Visit China Town in Port Louis
6. Le Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis.
This is a waterfront shopping place with a bit of everything. It has many shops, plenty of food options, caudan art center and the blue penny museum.
7.Grand Bassin / Ganga Talao
This is a popular pilgrimage because it is the biggest outside India. In 1972, a priest from India brought sacred water from the Ganges and poured the holy water into the lake.
8.Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden {Pamplemousse Garden}
It is located in the North of Mauritius, and it's known for its impressive collection of tropical plants including the giant Victoria Amazonica water lilies, talipot palms and variety of indigenous trees.
